Jack and Peter Short Film Script (Flashpoint Class Project)
FADE IN:
.INT. BEDROOM-DAY
PETER JETTLEE, a 20-something thin nerdy male, is on his computer looking for wrestling action figures on eBay.
Peter’s bedroom is filled with wrestling themed collectables, posters and merchandise. In the background, a TV with a wrestling match on the screen is seen.
The shelf in Peter’s room is filled with wrestler action figures. One specific action figure, a wrestler named JACKHAMMER JACK, a male stereotypical American wrestler from the 80’s, starts to shake in place a bit and starts to walk on the shelf.
Jackhammer Jack falls off the shelf onto the floor which gets the attention of Peter. Peter walks over to put his Jackhammer Jack action figure back on the shelf. Jackhammer Jack fidgets in Peter’s hand.
JACK
Who the hell are you, buddy?
Peter screams and drops the Jackhammer Jack action figure. The Jackhammer Jack action figure gets up and starts to walk towards Peter.
JACK
Answer the damn question, where am I and who are you?
Peter is cowering in fear next to his bed as Jackhammer Jack walks closer to him.
PETER
My name is Peter Jettlee. This is my bedroom. And I didn’t know your model could talk?
JACK
What do you mean by model? I’m a professional wrestler!
Jackhammer Jack looks at himself in the mirror on Peter’s closet door and realizes that’s he’s in his own action figure. Jackhammer Jack screams and looks at his hands.
JACK
I’m a toy! How did this happen to me?
PETER
Actually you’re a Jackhammer Jack action figure from BWC Classics Series 8.
JACK
Classics? Kid, do you know what happened to Jackhammer Jack?
Peter picks up a wrestling magazine from his nightstand and slides it across the floor towards Jackhammer Jack. On the cover is a picture of Jackhammer Jack and the text reads “Jackhammer Jack: 1962-2020”. Jackhammer Jack falls to the ground after he sees the magazine and Peter walks over to pick him up. Peter places Jackhammer Jack on his nightstand.
Jackhammer Jack sees a photo on Peter’s nightstand of him and his mother. Jackhammer Jack walks over towards the picture and places his hand on it. Jackhammer Jack rubs Peter’s mother’s face.
PETER
Jackhammer Jack? Why are you doing that? That’s my Mom?
JACK
Mom! Wait a minute did you say your last name is Jettlee?
PETER
Yeah. Why?
JACK
I think I dated your mother.
PETER
What!
SFX: Knocking
Peter’s bedroom door is shut and Jackhammer Jack’s leans back as Peter panics.
SUE (O.S.)
Peter, are you still looking at wrestling toys on the internet?
PETER
Um, wrapping it up, Mom. I’ll be down for dinner in a moment. Let me just put this action figure away.
Peter picks up Jackhammer Jack as SUE JETTLEE, a 50-something thin woman, enters the room. Sue opens Peter’s closet to grab the laundry basket. Sue sees in Peter’s hand the Jackhammer Jack action figure and looks disgusted.
SUE
Why did you buy that? He’s a jerk?
JACK
You think I’m a jerk!
Sue screams as Peter tries to calm her down while holding Jackhammer Jack in his hand.
SUE
It talked!
JACK
Yeah Sue, it’s me Jack. I’m somehow stuck in this toy...
PETER
Action figure.
JACK
Whatever? Look I’m sorry for the stuff that happened between us and I hope you can forgive me.
SUE
You broke my heart Jack and you left me to raise our son alone.
Peter looks at Jackhammer Jack and drops him. Then Peter sits back down at his desk. Jackhammer Jack slowly gets up, looks at Peter, then looks at Sue.
JACK
Peter’s my son?
Sue nods her head yes as Peter sighs and Jackhammer Jack starts to walk over towards Peter. Midway through Jackhammer Jack’s walk, Peter picks him up and embraces Jackhammer Jack. Sue walks over towards Peter and joins in for a group hug.
SUE
I forgive you Jack.
Suddenly, a bright light covers the screen and when it fades back to normal, Peter fidgets with the Jackhammer Jack action figure only for it to be lifeless again. Peter throws the Jackhammer Jack action figure onto his bed and hugs Sue again. The Jackhammer Jack action figure lays on Peter’s bed lifeless with a twinkle in his eye.

The Big Game (Flashpoint Class Project)
FADE IN:
.INT. NORTHWEST SUBURB HOUSE-DAY
The sound of a clock ticking is heard in the background as BOB, an older gruff man, sits in his lazy boy chair watching a TV with static on the screen.
Bob turns his head to look at his desk next to the lazy boy and there is a magazine that advertises the big football game today. Bob gets up from his lazy boy chair and starts messing with the TV antenna. Bob moves the antenna around, but the TV is still static.
Bob, in anger, hits the TV and a brief clip of the football game appears, only to disappear as soon as it appeared.
Bob, messing with antenna, discovers a sweet spot and is able to get the game tuned in. Bob steps back from the TV on his way to sit back down and discovers that he must stay in that same spot in order for it to work.
Bob stands with the antenna in the sweet spot and watches the game. Bob zones out and his head starts to bob as he nods off. A moment later, he awakes to the sound of his dog barking.
Bob’s dog is holding his leash in his mouth. Bob sighs and carefully moves away from the antenna. He hooks up his dog to his leash and takes him on a walk.
The TV appears to be working fine and the football game goes on as normal.
Bob returns from walking his dog and is super excited to see the game as he unhooks his dog from the leash. Bob makes his way back to the lazy boy and sits down. He looks at the TV and the screen goes black. The power has gone out in Bob’s house.
CUT TO BLACK:
Bob sighs in the dark and a flash of lightning is seen. The sound of thunder and rain is outside.
