“Bucky the Writer” Sitcom Script: Part 5!

 Scene E

INT. LIVING ROOM-NIGHT!
(BUCKY BUTLER, SPOTTY, JENNY BUTLER, NINA BUTLER)

NINA BUTLER ENTERS HOLDING A LAUNDRY BASKET

                      NINA BUTLER
Hey guys. That pizza smells good.

                      JENNY BUTLER
          (LOVEINGLY) Nina!

                       SPOTTY
          (HAPPY) Auntie Nini!

                      BUCKY BUTLER
          Nina’s not—

                     NINA BUTLER
          Nina’s not what, Bucky?

                    BUCKY BUTLER
          Nothing.

                     NINA BUTLER
              Since you’re always behaving weirdly,
I’ll just ignore that as usual.
So how have things been since
              the move?

                     JENNY BUTLER
Oh you know, the house is
still a mess and there’s so
much to do and so little time.

                     NINA BUTLER
And what have you done since
              the move Bucky?

                   BUCKY BUTLER
              Well for starters, I just
              finished my slice of pizza
and now I’m off to do my
              chores. Later!

BUCKY BUTLER AND SPOTTY EXIT THE SCENE WHILE JENNY BUTLER AND NINA BUTLER GIVE EACH OTHER A HUG

                    NINA BUTLER
           Sorry I came over so
           late. But things came up
           at work.

                    JENNY BUTLER
           It’s okay. Seeing my children
           always makes me happy.

                     NINA BUTLER
So how is my little brother
           doing?

                      JENNY BUTLER
He’s fine. Bucky is doing good in
his comedy writing class. And he’s
been really helpful during the move.

                       NINA BUTLER
           Really?

                      JENNY BUTLER
Well, as helpful as Bucky can
be. But he really is trying.

                        NINA BUTLER
Do you ever think Bucky will change?
I mean, I’m worried about him. He been so
anxious lately. Also did you see him
                 talking to himself earlier?

                         JENNY BUTLER
                 Bucky’s doing fine. I think
a lot is happening all at once. You
know with the move, the classes, and his
                 relationship with his father.

                        NINA BUTLER
           How is Steve doing?

                     JENNY BUTLER
           He’s still crazy as usual.
Plus, he still owes me money.
Bucky and I paid for all of his
           classes.

                       NINA BUTLER
Yeah, someday Bucky won’t have to
rely on Steve to take care of him.
Hopefully, Bucky will learn to take
                 care of himself.

                       JENNY BUTLER
               Speaking of Steve. I have a doctor’s
appointment next Saturday and Steve has
to take him to the train station so
Bucky can take the train downtown for
               class.

                         NINA BUTLER
A car ride with Steve, that sucks.

                          JENNY BUTLER
Maybe you can drive Bucky to the train
               station?

                          NINA BUTLER
Wow, a car ride with Bucky. That’s even
               worse.

                        JENNY BUTLER
               Nina, Bucky’s not that bad.

                          NINA BUTLER
He’s 25 years old and yet he
               still behaves like my annoying
               little brother.

                           JENNY BUTLER
               But, he’ll always be your
               annoying little brother. You know
               we love you right?

                          NINA BUTLER
And I love you guys too?

JENNY BUTLER AND NINA BUTLER GIVE EACH OTHER ANOTHER HUG AND BUCKY BUTLER RENTERS HOLDING A TRASH BAG

                      BUCKY BUTLER
                Oh, I forgot something!

BUCKY BUTLER SETS THE TRASH BAG DOWN AND GIVES NINA BUTLER A BIG BEAR HUG

                      BUCKY BUTLER
                 I love you!

                      NINA BUTLER
(MOANING IN PAIN) Okay let go of
me. I know you love me too!

BUCKY BUTLER LETS GO OF NINA BUTLER AND PICKS UP THE TRASH BAG THEN EXITS THE SCENE

                      NINA BUTLER
I hate it when he hugs me
                like that.

                     JENNY BUTLER
Again, he loves his big sister. Now
you should probably do your laundry.
It’s getting late and we both have to
                go to work tomorrow.

                      NINA BUTLER
Also, I should probably get to my
laundry because the sooner I get out
of here the quicker I can avoid another
                painful goodbye Bucky hug.

                        JENNY BUTLER
Let’s head to the laundry room.
Bucky probably forgot to switch over
the clothes again so I bet the machines are
                still full.

                        NINA BUTLER
Classic Bucky. You have to be tougher on
him Mom, he’s supposed to be taking care
                of you.

                         JENNY BUTLER
The day Bucky learns to take care of me
will be the greatest day of my life.

                          NINA BUTLER
So basically it’s the day when
Bucky gets a job and moves out.

                        JENNY BUTLER
No, that’ll be the second greatest day of
my life. But don’t worry Nina, it’ll happen
              soon enough.

                      NINA BUTLER
I think it’ll happen some day too. But I
bet it’s more likely that dogs will learn
to drive cars before Bucky will ever want to
              apply for a job.

                       SPOTTY
(OFF SCREEN) I know how to drive a
car, Auntie Nini. Dad I finally helped
you achieve one of your goals.

                                            FADE OUT.
