The Wish Tournament Part 3

Flashback to yesterday morning, when Princess Lara began preparing to runaway to Kenmere City. Princess Lara lived with her parents Atomic and Queen Brooke Anderson in an old rustic apartment above the repair shop where her dad, Atomic, works. Princess Lara’s bedroom is not the typical room of a young woman, instead of the walls colored pink and covered in posters of cute boys. No, the walls of her room are adorned with posters of famous legendary fighters, barbarians, her trophies, and her medals. As she packs a small suitcase, Princess Lara has her long blonde flowing hair in a ponytail as she chews some purple bubblegum loudly. After Princess Lara finishes packing up her suitcase, she sighs and walks over to her desk. Princess Lara pulls out her bedazzled notebook and starts writing a goodbye letter to her parents. After she finishes the letter, she puts it into an envelope and puts a stamp on it. Before Princess Lara exits her window, she spots a family photo of her and her parents on her nightstand. Princess Lara walks back in and picks up the family photo. It was taken during at a different time, back when she was 10-years old, during a tropical vacation in the warm calming beaches of Liki Liki Island, with her Atomic and Queen Brooke both sporting rock perfect swimsuit bodies with God-like physiques. As for young 10-year-old Princess Lara, she was awkward and overweight at the time, standing under her bodybuilder parents. Princess Lara looks at the photo and then looks at her current self in the mirror. Even though she’s currently a much more mature, physically fit, thinner, muscular, young woman now and she sighs as if she still is forever that overweight and awkward 10-year-old child. Princess Lara then taps a truly special championship belt that currently resides around her waist, a championship that gives a great reward at a great cost. Princess Lara throws the old photo of her 10-year-old self in anger as she then exits out of her bedroom window. Potluck sits in his mail truck outside with coffee and doughnuts. Potluck wolfs down the doughnuts, Princess Lara gets into his mail truck which scares him. “What the…oh, thank God it’s just you, Lara. I got us some breakfast,” said Potluck. Potluck hands Princess Lara a cup of coffee with a smile. Princess Lara plays with her hair and sighs. “Just drive to the train station, Potluck. I need to catch the 6:00am train to Kenmere City,” says Princess Lara. Potluck starts up his mail truck and drives down a beautiful country road. As Potluck and Princess Lara drive through the village of Galbow passing by small shops, restaurants, and marketplaces.

They travel through a forest filled with dragons and griffins flying in the clear skies above. Gnomes living in little, tiny mushroom houses going about their lives. Unicorns running in a herd next to Potluck’s mail truck. Along with Potluck’s mail truck driving past a troll living under a bridge and of course Potluck pays the toll to the troll. After exiting the forest, Potluck and Princess Lara make it to the Galbow’s not a super busy train station with only one drunk ticket taker sleeping inside the ticket booth. Princess Lara gives Potluck a hug and exits his mail truck. Potluck sighs and works up some courage to follow her. As Princess Lara buys her ticket, Potluck swings her around and shakes her hard. “Why are you doing this? You belong in Galbow, not Kenmere City. Your life is perfect here, why would you need to wish for anything?” asks Potluck. Princess Lara slaps Potluck in the face. “Look, my parents have the perfect life. And I’ll just ruin it. But if I can win the Wish Tournament, I can finally be a true champion. One that’ll make my father proud of me. It’s hard not only being royalty, but I’m not that a great fighter either. But now I. I can finally be perfect like them,” cries Princess Lara. Potluck taken aback groans as Princess Lara makes her way to the boarding platform to catch her train. Potluck catches up to her out of breath as Princess Lara hands him an envelope. Potluck takes the envelope and puts it in his mailbag. Potluck grabs Princess Lara’s hand as she is about to board the train. “Please don’t go. And don’t be so hard on yourself. Nobody’s perfect nor can they be,” says Potluck. The train horn blows, Princess Lara squeezes his Potluck’s hand hard, and he lets go of her hand. Princess Lara kisses Potluck on the cheek. “Goodbye Potluck. You’re a good friend,” says Princess Lara. “Goodbye Lara,” says Potluck. Potluck waves goodbye Princess Lara boards the train. The train rides off as Potluck continues to wave goodbye after the train is long gone. After exiting the train station, Potluck makes his way back to his mail truck and he pulls out his wallet to see an old picture of him and Princess Lara back in high school. Back in their high school days, Princess Lara was the stereotypical popular cheerleader girl, while Potluck was and still is a stereotypical nerd. Potluck crumbles up the picture and throws it out his mail truck window. Potluck starts up his mail truck as the next train slowly rolls into the station only for a huge dragon to fly down and pick up one of the train cars and flies off with it. Potluck sees the huge dragon and acts like it’s just another Tuesday in Glabow. Potluck turns on the radio and slowly pulls out of his parking spot with tears flowing down his eyes. “I must keep a promise to a friend and deliver the mail,” says Potluck. Potluck drives away as it slowly starts to rain as the day just goes on before some Earth-shattering news will change everything.
