After Zeus lost a poker game to his old frenemy Odin, Odin is now the new producer and owner of “The Background Character Club” reality show. Because it’s closer to his home, Odin moves production of the show to Asgard. Spotty, The Morlocks and the contestants reluctantly move to Asgard as Asgardian hijacks ensue. Spotty has to temporary leave Asgard, because after a phone call from a Russian mob boss, he’s worried about his on again, off again boyfriend Vladimir Lenin’s life and must travel to Russia. In Spotty’s place, Hercules heads to Asgard to be the temporary host of the show. Hercules has a rivalry with Odin’s son Thor, and they begin to butt heads on the set. As the contestants compete for the latest prize that is the legendary Asgardian sword Angervadil. Jag Jaguar starts to fall in love with a Valkyrie named Herja, after she saved him from a troll attack.
Pip Puffin won the sword Angervadil and makes it to the next round of the show. After Wally finds out that Odin cheated in the poker game between him and Zeus, along with other hijinks, Zeus gets back control over “The Background Character Club” and moves it back to its original home of Booktopia. Spotty saved Lenin from the Russian mafia, only to later find out that Lenin himself had a hand in his own kidnapping. Spotty angrily breaks up with Lenin again and flies back to Booktopia to return as host the show. Jag won Herja’s heart after he saved her from a troll himself, and they write love letters to each other because Herja stayed in Asgard, as Jag had to go back to film the show back in Booktopia. As Lenin drinks Vodka alone in a bar back in his mother Russia, he is visited by Loki who offers Lenin deal that might help Lenin win Spotty’s heart once and for all.
