Faterella Short Story 2025 Version Part 1

Once upon a time, in a faraway land. Man, that’s such a corny line to start out with. Even as a writer that line always makes me cringe. Let me tell you the story about two carnival freaks named Faterella and The Wild Man. Yet, those are just their stage names, their real names are Faith and Brian. Each night, their freak show exhibit steals the show down at the rundown rusty crusty “Mr. We’s Traveling Carnival”. The Ferris wheel and the roller coasters ain’t got nothing on Faterella and The Wild Man. Faith quite earned her nickname of Faterella due to her weighing in at an astounding 750lbs. Even though her large tough appearance make her appear to be mean and frightening, Faith is a kindhearted and caring young woman. As for Brian, he’s called The Wild Man for a reason. He’s covered in heaps of wild matted fur; he has two sharp frightening fangs alongside claws just as sharp as his personality. He’s in many ways like a wolf, not just because of the fur that surrounds his body, but because he walks on all fours. Faith and Brian have traveled the world together and a close relationship soon formed.

One that started off as friendship, which led eventually to one of love. Now, you may think that Faith and Brian loved life traveling with the carnival, yet that could not be further from the truth. They and their fellow freaks were abused by the greedy short chubby carnival owner, Mr. We. Mr. We, whom alongside his ghoulish goons, whipped the freaks, fed them rancid food, and treated them more like animals than humans. Faith and Brian dreamed that they could run away from the carnival. Faith unfortunately had no home of her own after she lost both her parents at a young age. She had no desire to live with her evil Aunt Kim and her evil cousins Ashley and Kate, who sadly are the only family she has. Even though she lived with her Aunt Kim until she was 15, her wicked aunt sold her to Mr. We’s Carnival for a quick buck before her 16th birthday. As for Brian, he was sold to Mr. We for a high price after being found roaming around the woods next to his carnival by two lumberjacks, so that makes his true origins unknown. Faith and Brian made a vow to escape the carnival together, but however, one day would change both Faith and Brian’s lives forever. Once the traveling carnival stopped at a wonderful kingdom known as The Champion Kingdom during their tour across the country. The Champion Kingdom is where Faith lived her life before the traveling carnival. While in the kingdom, Faith and Brian were separated by force. Due to her father’s recently discovered legal will. According to her father’s will, both Faith and her Aunt Kim share co-ownership of his mansion estate because Faith had inherited the majority of his estate. To sum things up, Faith was forced to move back in with her Aunt Kim to her childhood home, which is a decaying mansion in the countryside of the Champion Kingdom, because for her Aunt Kim to still live her brother’s mansion, Faith is required to live there too because of her co-ownership of her father’s estate. Even though Faith doesn’t know that she in fact has way more ownership in her father’s mansion than her aunt does, but the less Faith knows, the better for her Aunt Kim. Now she lives in a home of both physical and emotional abuse by the hands of her aunt and her cousins who bully and belittle Faith every day. Faith feels a little awkward too because she isn’t as pretty as her conventionally attractive aunt and cousins who all look like supermodels. As for Brian, he remains trapped at the carnival without his beloved Faith. Eventually, years would pass, and Faith’s life changed quite a lot. Faith, by age 24, became a world champion sumo wrestler and local Champion Kingdom celebrity, but under the name Faterella of course. A name which has brought her fame but causes her heart to break every time she hears it shouted by large roaring arena crowds. In the end Faith’s dream was never to be a sumo wrestler. That came faster to her because of her build and large appetite.

No Faith wishes for something else. What are Faith’s dreams? That’s not for me to share with you of course. Who am I you’re wondering? Let’s just say that I’m a loving figure and someone who will protect Faith no matter what. But this isn’t my story, it’s Faith’s story. So, let’s move along here and I’ll shut my yapper to let the words on the page themselves to tell you this tale. In the present, back at the decaying old mansion owned by her cruel aunt, now devoid of color and beauty. Up in the worn torn attic filled with rats and raccoons. Faith lives up in the attic all alone in a dusty makeshift bedroom. As she writes in her diary at her desk, chewing on her pencil, wishing for a better life. The sound of the morning rooster crowing signals the start of the day. Faith gets up and slowly walks over towards a punching bag, with a picture of her Aunt Kim taped on. Faith beat the ever-living shit out of the punching bag, making it hard to tell if it was her strength or anger shining through. Faith begins to get tired and falls fast onto the remains of her bed which are at this point is just the mattress and some pillows at this point because her large frame broken to the point of no return. Faith breathes heavily and sighs as she pulls out the latest fashion magazine with her latest fan girl crush on the cover. Faith has eyes on the latest pretty boy heartthrob, but luckily this one ain’t going away nor would he probably be a fad. Faith’s fan girl crush is the eldest son of King Champion and first in line for the Champion Kingdom throne, Prince Champion. As Faith placed the magazine against her loving heart in a room surrounded by posters of Prince Champion and supermodels. Faith gets herself up and looks at herself in the mirror and frowns. Faith looks up at a poster hanging on the ceiling in her room of some random typical attractive girl next door supermodel, whom she longs to be, but can never really be. Not that it’s impossible for her to lose some weight, but due to her low self-esteem, she will never feel as pretty as that supermodel in her poster. Remember that old saying, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it appears that society has forgotten to get that memo. Faith, like anyone, can change her appearance, but that’s easier said than done because you can change your appearance, the rest of the fight is for her to change her self-esteem. Fat or thin, it doesn’t matter in the end for Faith or for anyone, no matter what size, just loving herself is the real battle in the end. Heck, all those supermodels she looks at in her magazines are probably facing the same issues as her, they may be thin but does that mean like anyone that they are truly happy in the end. Deep down, inner beauty matters, they say judge someone based on their character and not appearance, but again, society has forgotten that memo too. As she looks away from the poster of the supermodel hanging on her ceiling, Faith then looks at her large mitts and makes a fist while holding back her tears as she says to herself “Someday, but not today,”. Faith works out for a few more hours until she looks at the clock and realizes it’s time for breakfast. Faith sighs and makes her way down a long staircase from the attic to the kitchen.

As Aunt Kim makes Faith more and more food, like preparing to fatten up a pig for the slaughterhouse, her cousins Ashley and Kate heckle and bully her from across the table. With her thinner prettier cousins Ashley and Kate barely eating anything due to them trying to maintain their figures and fronts, Faith arrives to see a huge pot filled with beef stew and three plates of corn bread waiting for her. Faith just sits there playing with her beef stew just swirling the spoon. Aunt Kim snaps her fingers and stares angrily at Faith. “Faterella, eat your food. Because one, it’s expensive, and two, you have a match tonight, so you need to get into fighting shape,” yells Aunt Kim. Faith sighs and then she begins to chow down at a rapid pace, just inhaling food like there’s no tomorrow. Faith finished her meal so fast that would make any competitive eater’s jaw drop. “May I be excused now?” asks Faith. “Yes, but before you leave. Please clean up your mess,” said Aunt Kim. Faith started picking up the dirty plates as she made her way to the sink. “If you weren’t the breadwinner of our family Faith. I would have kicked you out years ago,” cruelly said Aunt Kim. Faith is visibility starting to get angry as she washes the dishes. A look of horror appears of Aunt Kim’s face as she escorts her daughters Ashley and Kate out of the kitchen. “Come on girls. We need to leave to Faterella alone as she does her chores. I’ll help you both pick out your outfits for today. Oh, and Faterella, after your chores begin your training for your match tonight. After all you want to win tonight,” says Aunt Kim. Faith breaks a plate in and screams out loud in anger “My name is Faith,”. Suddenly Faith’s screams cause a huge quake as lighting engulfs her entire body. Before Faith could go further into her strange outburst, Aunt Kim snaps her fingers and says a magical incantation that knocks Faith right out. Faith, now lying on the ground in a sleep like state, her Aunt Kim walks over and places her hands on Faith’s head. Aunt Kim says the same magical incantation again while holding Faith’s head her hands begin to glow. Ashley and Kate then walk over to their mother as they both shake in fear. “Why does Faterella have to live with us still? She’s a threat to us and the entire kingdom. I mean another outburst like this and…,” says Ashley. Aunt Kim releases her grip on Faith as she is now calmer and asleep lying on the ground. Aunt Kim gets up from off the ground and sighs. Aunt Kim then turns to face her daughters and says “The less Faterella knows about her magical powers, the better. I fear she’s becoming just as powerful as her father who is the true threat here. I erased her memory of this magical outburst just like I did all the others. Out of sight and out of mind. Come on girls, this poor creature needs her rest. I will revive her before her match tonight,”. Eventually, many hours later, Faith woke up alone inside the kitchen none the wiser of the events that had happened earlier. Faith looked around her kitchen and it was a mess. Faith stretched her arms and cracked her neck before she went to meditate. While Faith was meditating, the kitchen began to magically clean itself. But was it Faith using her powers to clean it up? In the shadows a mysterious slender, male, nerdy figure wearing a red hooded wizard’s robe waved a large magical staff as it turned out he’s the one cleaning the kitchen on behalf of Faith. Faith awakes from her meditation to spot this mysterious figure cleaning the kitchen by waving his large magical staff while singing a magical spell. Faith slowly gets up from the ground and walks over to the mysterious figure. As Faith walks closer to the mysterious figure, he lowers his hood to reveal a 20-something slender nerdy brown-haired male that looks a little like a slimmer male version of her. “Who are you?” asks Faith.

He then took his robe to reveal a pair of wings on his back which causes a heavenly glow engulfing him and he then snaps his fingers to play some classical music. “Sorry to keep you waiting. Trust me, I know your life’s been Hell. My name is Nick. I’m your guardian angel. Your protector from above. I came here to help you out. To grant you any wish you request and to teach you how to hone your magical powers,” says Nick. As Nick flies around the kitchen showing off his magical powers like the ability to fly of course. He brought life to the soulless objects of the room like the stove, the kitchen table, chairs, brooms, forks, spoons, and knifes to life. The lively objects dance around the kitchen as Nick breakdances on the ceiling. Faith watches in awe of her guardian angel’s showing of his magical skills, but Faith senses a dark presence inside the kitchen. Faith walks around as she hears odd sinister fowl noises in the kitchen cupboard. Even though these noises would sinister mysterious noises sound like gibberish to most, Faith closes her eyes and listens to a conversation between some very dark souls and understands every word of it. Faith is then taken aback as she starts to get a headache. Faith rubs her head to sooth her headache only to realize that demonic horns are growing out of her head. Faith feels the horns on her head and screams in bloody horror. Which didn’t just get Nick’s attention but made two horrible, monstruous, blood hungry, mindless, demons jump on of the cupboard and pounce on Faith. The kitchen objects once filled with life, having stopped dancing and have become soulless tools of the mortals again. Faith wrestles the two demons off her only for the whole kitchen to be filled with demons from left to right. Nick whistles and throws Faith a magical wand. “What am I supposed to do with this?” asks Faith. Nick glasses transform into sunglasses then he snaps his fingers, and the once calm peaceful heavenly classical music is replaced by demonic heavy metal. “It’s battle time,” says Nick. Nick spins his large magical staff and shoots lightning bolts at the demons. The show boating Nick kills a horde of demons like it’s no breeze. As for Faith, she hits the demons on the head with her magical wand. But the more Faith holds the magical wand, a mysterious untold feelings and memories emerge. Faith yells a loud battle cry and being a fast learner, uses the magical wand to zap demons to death like it was nothing.

After a brawl with demons that felt like an eternity, but was just only 15 minutes, finally ends with Faith and Nick defeating their foes as they watch them as they retreat from back to once they came. Faith and Nick celebrate their victory by flying around the kitchen. Faith and Nick land back on the ground as the shake hands. “Thanks again my guardian angel. I just have three questions, what the heck happened just now? Who are you really? And why should I believe any of this?” asks Faith. Nick gulps and says “Like I said my name is Nick and I’m your guardian angel. Now how about I grant you a wish, would that make you feel better? So, what is your first wish going to be?” asks Nick. But before Faith could even speak, only for her Aunt Kim and her cousins Ashley and Kate to enter the kitchen. Faith tries to state her first wish, but just as fast as Nick arrived, he vanished without a trace. Faith looks around the kitchen to see that it’s spotless as her Aunt Kim taps her foot. “Faith, the carriage is here and we’re going to be late for your match if you don’t get moving,” shouts Aunt Kim. “Right, my match tonight. Time just flies by, doesn’t it?” says a very confused Faith. Faith rubs her head as she exits the kitchen realizing her demon horns have disappeared. Faith is the first to leave, followed by her cousins, but before her Aunt Kim exits, she spots a demon’s hand coming out of the ground holding a letter. Aunt Kim takes the letter out the demon’s hand and opens it. Aunt Kim reads the letter as she heads to the carriage to Faith’s match tonight. Before the day is truly over, as the night is still young. Inside huge stadium the sounds of spectators cheering loudly as they watch with glee the main event of the evening. Faith, a champion sumo wrestler vs. El Killo, the world heavyweight wrestling champion, in a publicity match of sumo wrestler vs. professional wrestler. As Faith and El Killo grapple in the ring, it looks like Faith is going to be the clear winner. After all, Faith is stronger and larger than the dimwitted masked muscular luchador El Killo. Yet, Faith and El Killo look like they are having a grand old time in the ring, both enjoying what they do best, wrestling. Faith pins El Killo for the win as the crowd cheers erupt as they start chanting Faterella with pride for their kingdom’s champion.

As the referee raises Faith’s hand in victory, El Killo lays beaten on the ground with a look of disdain and vengeance across his face. Faith bows down to the crowd and is about to leave the ring only for El Killo to pull a sneak attack and hit her with a folding chair. Faith falls as El Killo repeatedly whacks her with the chair in the back to keep her down. Faith cries out in pain as the crowd laughs and cheers on El Killo. Suddenly as El Killo was about to do the final blow, until someone in the crowd shouted “Faith” and started running out of their seat and into the ring. Who is this hero from the crowd? It's the rugged, manly, strong, handsome, Prince Champion of course. Prince Champion enters the ring and gets the chair out of El Killo’s hands. El Killo shakes in fear and flees the ring. Faith looks up to see her crush Prince Champion reaching his hand out to help her up. “It’s okay. You’re safe now, Faith,” says Prince Champion. Faith is stunned and curious how Prince Champion knows her real name, because the public only knows her by her stage name of Faterella. Faith to scared to ask and in awe of Prince Champion kneels before him. “Your highness. Thanks for your help. No one has ever been this kind to me,” said Faith. Prince Champion blushes and then he hears the clock tower ringing. Prince Champion looks at his hand as fur slowly grows. Prince Champion mumbles a quick goodbye to Faith as he storms out of the stadium. Faith is lovestruck after meeting Prince Champion, but soon the crowd begins to boo her and throw tomatoes at her. Faith gets covered in the garbage being throw at her by the crowd as she’s shocked why they suddenly turned on her. Elsewhere, in the stadium parking lot, Prince Champion is talking with his younger evil brother, Alfred Champion as Alfred says a magical incantation to make Prince Champion’s hand fur go away. “Thanks again Alfred. I owe you one,” said Prince Champion. “I don’t get why you had to play hero in the ring and save your ex-girlfriend. She’s so ugly. When I first saw her, I thought she was a man. Why her? And do you really love her?” asks Alfred. Prince Champion slaps Alfred across his smug face and then lifts him up off the ground. “Look you little weasel. Don’t you ever insult Faith again. She cared for me when you and Dad didn’t. Let’s just go home and….,” says Prince Champion. Before Prince Champion could beat the ever-living snot out of his brother Alfred, he hears intense crying nearby. And this cry is familiar to him, because it’s the familiar try he’s heard before in a prior life. Prince Champion drops Alfred and follows the sounds of the cries of his beloved. Alfred coughs and dusts himself off. “I’m telling Dad about all of this. He’ll never let you be with her you know. And we should probably get going because we must prepare for your royal ball tomorrow. Or you know what, screw you and your ex. I’m dealing with a lot of things myself right now. Who am I talking too?” asks Alfred. Alfred shrugs and walks towards a gorgeous gold royal carriage waiting for him. Prince Champion finds Faith crying next to a dumpster outside the stadium. Prince Champion slowly sits next to Faith and puts a royal envelope out of his pocket. Prince Champion grabs Faith’s hand and hands her the envelope. Faith wipes away her tears and looks like a confused puppy at the gift she’s just received. “Your highness, what’s this envelope? Do I owe money?” asks Faith. “No, it’s an invitation to the Champion Royal Ball tomorrow. I really hope you can come Faith,” says Prince Champion. “How do you know my real name?” asks Faith. Prince Champion gulps and stutters a bit when just in time his royal carriage arrived to take him home. “I’ll tell you how I know your real name when the moment is right. Good night,” says Prince Champion. Prince Champion kisses Faith’s hand and goes to his royal carriage.

After Prince Champion rides off in his royal carriage. Faith smiles brightly and giggles. “OMG, I’m going to the royal ball. What should I…” says Faith. Faith sees her reflection in a puddle and looks at the royal ball envelope again. “Like I could ever land a prince looking like this. I wish I could be thin,” said Faith. Faith gets up off the ground and dusts herself off when somehow Nick appears before Faith. “Did I hear you wish for something?” asks Nick. “Wow, you can see and hear everything. You can make me thin and beautiful?” asks Faith. Nick pulls out his magical staff and waves it across her body while talking in tongues. Smoke immerses Faith as she begins to glow in a bright golden aura. Nick slams his magical staff to the ground and shouts “She is a believer,” as the smoke slowly clears to see that Faith still looks the same.
