Faterella Short Story 2025 Version Part 3

At the royal ball, the party is on as the elite and noble get rowdy and drunk as they all dance the night away having the times of their lives. King Champion and Alfred Champion sit on their thrones as they watch Prince Champion struggle to flirt with a sea of women. “Why doesn’t he pick one already?” asks Alfred. “Now Alfred, he must find the right woman. After all, after tonight he would have chosen his wife to marry,” says King Champion. Alfred grumbles as he gets off his throne and leaves into the shadows. Prince Champion is surrounded by women, but not the woman he wants. The one he loves. He knows who he wants to marry, but he’s slowly realizing she might not come tonight. Prince Champion makes his way out of the crowd of women like he’s almost parting the red sea. Prince Champion feeling heartbroken his beloved didn’t even come, as the royal ball is nearly over, sees someone new and a person he doesn’t recognize, but in his heart, she feels so familiar. Prince Champion locks his eyes on Faith as they both eventually spot each other from across the room.

Prince Champion and Faith run towards each other as they both stop to inspect the other. Faith curtsies before Prince Champion as he reaches his hand out to her. “Would you like to talk in private, miss?” asks Prince Champion. “Faith. My name is Faith. I would love too,” nervously blurts Faith. Prince Champion is a bit taken a back because of her new looks, but deep down, he knows this is his beloved Faith. No matter what size or weight, he can recognize those beautiful eyes anywhere. “Follow me to the garden. We have much to discuss,” says Prince Champion. As the royal ball slowly wraps up, Faith and Prince Champion spent the whole night holding hands as they talked in the royal garden as an unaware Faith has no idea the spell that turned her thin will end in merely five minutes. “Faith, there’s something I need to tell you about. A secret that I have been dying to confess,” says Prince Champion. Before Prince Champion could reveal his secret, more memories flooded Faith’s mind. Memories of a former flame, The Wild Man. Faith begins to remember The Wild Man, someone who didn’t care about her looks. Her first real boyfriend. As she thought about her beloved Wild Man more, Faith grew worried about him. Faith broke their vow to leave the carnival together. Faith feeling conflicted, follows her heart. She sighs and let’s go of Prince Champion’s hand as she slowly makes her way out of the royal garden. Prince Champion not wanting Faith to leave, chases after her. “Faith where are you going?” asks Prince Champion. Faith turns around and looks at Prince Champion as she makes the tough decision that is the right decision because it’s what her heart wants her to do. “Look, your highness. You are kind, caring, handsome man. But we’re clearly not meant to be. I like you more had just a little crush on you at first and now that I met you, I will admit the attraction is there. But I love another,” says Faith. Prince Champion sighs and walks over to a tree as he looks up at the full moon. Prince Champion climbs the tree. “You need to listen to my secret first. Then I will know for sure who your true love is,” says Prince Champion.

Then the clock tower rang signaling midnight as Faith rapidly began to transform back into her old obese self. But Faith wasn’t the only one going through a transformation. Faith heard screams of pain atop the tree and as she slowly looked up, she saw Prince Champion becoming a hairy monster. Faith’s gut instinct told her to run away, but her heart told her to stay. Faith was glad she stayed because she had been reunited with her true love the whole time. Prince Champion jumped down from the tree, but not as the handsome, regal, prince, but as her beloved Brian a.k.a. The Wild Man. “Brian, you were Prince Champion this whole time?” asks Faith. “I’m sorry. I should have told you the truth sooner,” said Brian. “So, you aren’t a prince then?” asks Faith. “I am a prince. My name is Prince Brian of the Champion Kingdom. I wasn’t raised by wolves, my family sold me to the freak show when I was 17 because they were ashamed of me,” said Brian. Faith cries and then embraces Brian only for their reunion to be interrupted by a drunken Alfred Champion holding a black magical staff in one hand and a bottle of vodka in the other. “Alfred are you okay?” asks Brian. “No, I never was okay. I used to be the favorite child. I was the sole heir to the bloody throne until father saw my magical powers and made me them to turn you into a pretty boy,” said Alfred. Alfred takes a huge swig from his vodka bottle and throws it aside. Alfred aims his magical staff at Faith and Brian as he evilly snickers. “I’m finally doing it. I’m going to kill you brother. And Faterella is just a bonus. Then the throne will be mine,” cries Alfred. Before Alfred fires off his magical staff, Faith starts charging towards Alfred. Faith tries to attack Alfred only for him to snap his fingers which freezes Faith. Faith suddenly stops dead in her tracks, now motionless, and as she begins to twitch. Alfred grins and cackles as he starts to wave his hand to control a now mindless Faith like a puppet on strings. Faith rapidly begins to transform into a huge hulking red skinned demon as she sets her eyes on Brian. Faith starts to roar and growl as she slowly approaches Brian. Brian tries to calm Faith down, but he knows this isn’t the woman he knows, this is a monster, animal, a beast. “What have you done to her brother?” asks Brian. Faith strikes Brian and pins him down on the ground. Brian pleads with Faith to remember who she is and who he is, Alfred walks over and continues his evil laughter as Faith stares at Brian like nothing more than a piece of meat. “Oh brother, there’s one thing you should have known about your beloved Faterella. As you’ve probably figured out by now, Faith isn’t human. She’s a demon,” says Alfred.

Then the clock tower rang again, but now in a deep, demonic, tone which signaled the entrance of Dark Mark, the King of the Demon Realm. Dark Mark emerges out of the ground through a portal from Hell arriving at the Champion Castle grounds wearing his battle armor which is so black and dark it has no shine. Dark Mark moves so silently, the only sound coming from him is the noise from his rusty blood covered battle armor as he walks. Dark Mark taps Alfred on the shoulder to get at his attention. “You have awakened her without me. You dare betray me, my apprentice?” asks Dark Mark. Dark Mark pulls out his sword as Alfred gulps and begs for his life. “Master, I still did thy bidding. I just wanted my brother out of the picture first so that I can assume the throne. I just thought it would be even crueler if Brian was taken out by his beloved Faterella instead of me,” cries Alfred. Dark Mark begins to fume with anger as Alfred shakes with fear to the point he’s now pissing himself. Faith is about to slaughter Brian only for her to regain control of her mind. Faith releases Brian from her grip as they both stare at each other in shock and confusion. “Brian, what’s going on? What happened to me? What have I become?” asks Faith. Dark Mark out of nowhere stabs Alfred in the chest, killing him right before Faith and Brian’s eyes. Dark Mark pulls out his sword as after Alfred dies, he just turns to dust. Dark Mark laughs and points his sword at Faith. Dark Mark snaps his fingers, and when nothing happens, he snaps them again. “I should be controlling her like a puppet right now. What’s going on?” asks Dark Mark. Faith suddenly attacks Dark Mark as they begin to wrestle with each other in the middle of the Champion Kingdom castle grounds. Faith pins Dark Mark to the ground as anger covers her face. “You, I know who you are. You killed my parents,” roars Faith. Dark Mark laughs and smiles as he looks up at Faith. “Faith, my sweet Faith. Nick didn’t tell you the whole story. I’m not the one who killed your family. I am your family. I’m your father,” laughs Dark Mark. Faith shocked releases Dark Mark as she looks at her hands which are now demonic claws. “I’m sorry. Dark Mark is telling the truth. He is our father,” said a mysterious yet familiar voice. It starts to rain, eventually becoming a thunderstorm. Faith gets up and looks around the Champion Kingdom castle as she slowly begins to change back into her true human form. Faith turns around to see Nick standing next to Brian. “I should have told you sooner. I was just trying to protect you from our father Dark Mark. Like I said, I’m your guardian angel, big sis,” said Nick. Faith falls to her knees and starts to cry. While she is down on the ground, Dark Mark pulls out his sword and is about to murder Faith. Before Brian could warn Faith to look out, Brian looked to his side and Nick was gone. Faith is surrounded by heavenly light as she turns around to see Nick, with fairy wings, holding Dark Mark back with a large battle axe. “I’m more of a writer than a fighter. But when you hurt my family, I’m ready to defend,” says Nick. Nick pushes Dark Mark to the ground. Before Dark Mark could get up, Nick swings his battle axe into Dark Mark’s back. Dark Mark falls to his knees and moans in pain. As Nick is about to do the finishing blow, Dark Mark pleads for his life. “Please son, don’t kill your old man. We both want what’s best for your sister. Now I can give you anything, what would you like me to do?” asks Dark Mark. Nick slams his battle axe to the ground and whispers into his father’s ears “Get out”. Dark Mark, now wounded and beaten, flees back into his Hellish portal back into his domain. After Dark Mark exits, Nick rushes to check on Faith and Brian who he finds are now both in a romantic embrace. Nick smiles and sheds a tear, as King Champion and the royal ball party goers emerge from the castle to witness the young freakish lovers embrace. Nick writes in his journal and slowly disappears as King Champion walks over to his son and Faith much to the shock of the party goers. “Brian?” asks King Champion. Brian realizes that he and Faith are no longer alone as he becomes pale. “Dad, do I have a lot to catch you up on,” said Brian. I’m opening my yapper again to explain what happened to everyone after the royal ball. Brian told his subjects of the Champion Kingdom that night he is in fact The Wild Man, even though some were disgusted by appearance, they all still respected him as their prince. King Champion eventually told Brian the truth of how it was his evil uncle who was the one who sold him to the carnival behind his parent’s back.

And that it was no coincidence that the traveling carnival wound up back in the Champion Kingdom because his parents demanded it. Brian and the Champion Kingdom royal family laid Alfred to rest yet told their kingdom of the crimes he had committed in life. Brian and Faith are still together after they reunited at the royal ball. In fact, Brian and Faith are now engaged. Of course, Dark Mark returned to the Dark Realm where he belongs but this time he’s not alone. Because Dark Mark now has Alfred Champion for company alongside his army of demons. I later explained to Faith that she, like me, is in fact half-demon and half-fairy. With our father Dark Mark being a demon and our deceased mother being a fairy. I will eventually show Faith the wider magical world someday and explain in more detail how our parents met. But currently I have two jobs that I need to do first. Continue my role as Brian Champion’s royal advisor. And lastly, finish the book I’ve been writing about my sister Faith. For you see, it has been I, Nick, who has been the narrator of this tale, and this is as much of the tale as I can tell of it to ye old mortals. For you all, it’s happily ever after for us. But as for me, Faith, and Brian, our adventure has only just begun.

THE END?
