Saturday Morning Toons is an
animated/live action hybrid movie which is a tribute to Saturday Morning
cartoons. The movie is set in the 90’s
when Saturday morning cartoons were in their prime.
The story begins with two cartoon characters,
Lenny the Leopard and Snapper the Snapping Turtle. They are the stars of an old
cartoon from the 60’s who live their lives not knowing they are just fictional
cartoon characters. One day they find
out the truth about who they really are and begin hopping through different
cartoons and other shows on Saturday mornings.
Lenny the Leopard and Snapper the Snapping
Turtle explore different cartoons and TV shows. The heroes go to many different
shows during the Saturday morning block.
They visit everything from anime to action to educational. Along the way, they interrupt commercials and
the news. They even somehow manage to get into a wrestling show where they end
up wrestling real life wrestlers.
Lenny the Leopard and Snapper the Snapping
Turtle are having fun exploring these different shows on Saturday morning, but
they also want to return to their own show.
Later, Lenny the Leopard and Snapper the Snapping Turtle learn that they
were thrown off their cartoon by their rival Flea-Boy the Clown who wanted to
become the star of the show. Now it’s up to Lenny the Leopard and Snapper the
Snapping Turtle to stop Flea-Boy the Clown before he takes over their show. They must find a way to stop leaping from TV
show to TV show. Luckily, they manage to return home and defeat Flea-Boy the
Clown just before the final commercial break.
